The Pachanga Boys is the result of a collaboration between Superpitcher and Rebolledo. Clocking in at just over 15 minutes, this particular track isn’t going anywhere in a hurry.  But it’s all the better for being a slow builder; a lovely dreamy piece of electronica that’s sure to be the staple for many a post-club winddown.

Thanks to Dummy Mag for this rip of James Blake’s typically leftfield interpretation of D’Angelo’s classic track ‘Left and Right’. Under his Harmonimix moniker, The Mercury Award-nominated producer previewed this beauty during a back to back session with Rob da Bank on Radio 1 last Friday….

Nick Zammuto was one half of the now sadly demised experimental group The Books, but will be re-surfacing in 2012 with his own solo album and a tour.

This short film by Matt Day offers a look into Zammuto’s charming home life, as well as his time spent in the studio including a demonstration of his unique method for creating percussion loops using vinyl.

This process is also reminiscent of a previous video post we did back in October all about Analog Vinyl Sampling

Petit has been championing Barcelona’s John Talabot ever since we heard his My Old School EP in 2009, which featured lo-fi choppy loops with a healthy dose of happy house vibes. He continues to go from strength to strength and his talents have recently culminated in a long-played Fin; a balmy journey of cinematic synths and hooky delights. Suffice it to say the promo has been on loop at Petit Towers. In prep for its release this month John has mixed up a beautiful set for FACT. Click link above.

Rone is the Parisian-born producer Erwan Castex who’s celestial brand of tech-house first came to prominence back in 2008, when he released the track ‘Bora’.  Since his move to Berlin in the last year, he’s released the So So So EP, which featured the beautiful ‘Nakt’…

He’s also recently completed remix duties on another great champion of haunting melodic tech-house, Dominic Eulberg, and his track ‘Der Tanz de Gluehwuermchen’:

RIP Shem McCauley aka Slacker who passed away in Thailand on Monday. Shem was a seminal dance music producer through the nineties, but also one of the most prominent early ‘scratch mix’ hip hop DJs under his moniker DJ Streets Ahead. Shem continued to produce and perform all over the world and ran his own label Jukebox In The Sky until a few years ago when he moved to Thailand and embarked on a complete lifestyle change. ‘Scared’ and ‘Your Face’ were Petit faves back in ‘97 and big crossover hits while more recent releases such as ‘Corazon’ were staples of mainroom DJ’s such as Sasha… Shem you will be remember well and missed.
